Franny’s Soho Pop-Up
From early November for 8 weeks only, Franny’s has popped-up on Frith Street on the former Bertorelli site offering pizzas, pasta and cocktails.
The Folly
A new versatile space in The City, The Folly is a restaurant / bar / florist / deli that’s open from early morning until late evening (1:00 AM on Fridays) on Gracechurch Street, near Monument station.
Wafflemeister in Notting Hill
Wafflemeister will open its third store on 19th November in Notting Hill, to accompany its current sites in South Kensington and the Embankment. The new 50s inspired store will be on Portobello Road and will be open from 8am until 8pm. Free waffles will be available on the opening day.
Hakkasan Mayfair Opens This Week
On the 18th November 2010, Hakkasan Mayfair, sister restaurant to the Michelin starred Hakkasan in Fitzrovia, will open on Bruton Street, just off Berkeley Square. Hakkasan Mayfair spans two floors, with a 145-seater restaurant in the basement and a 75-seater lounge dining and bar on the ground floor.
Eighty-Six Fulham Road
Opening in mid November ‘Eighty-Six’ will aim to be a vibrant bar and restaurant in the heart of Chelsea, offering modern European menus from chef Mark Broadbent (formerly executive chef of Bluebird).
Free Beer at The Draft House!
The Draft House will be giving away free pints of Sambrook’s brand new Powerhouse Porter at all three Draft Houses from 6.30pm on Tuesday 16th November while stocks last, so get there early!
Clerkenwell’s North Road
Danish chef Christoffer Hruskova opens his new restaurant ‘North Road’ on St John Street on 15th November 2010, transferring and developing his Nordic inspired menu from his Fig restaurant in Islington, to the new Smithfield site, previously The Clerkenwell Dining Room.
Christmas with Jumeirah
The Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel is offering a Joy of Shopping Package – an overnight stay including a £50 Harvey Nichols voucher, English breakfast and a Pevonia foot care pack, from £240 per night. Contact the hotel for further information.
London Syon Park Hotel Opening
Further to last week’s announcement of the hotels about to open in London, we already have another one to mention. London Syon Park, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel, is set to open in early 2011, in the grounds of a 200 acre English country estate, Syon Park, home of the Duke of Northumberland. The hotel will look out across the Thames to Kew Gardens, and it is ideally situated between London and Heathrow.
Frankenstein: The Play
Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller will star in Danny Boyle’s forthcoming National Theatre début, Frankenstein. The actors will share the roles of Dr Frankenstein and the monster he creates, alternating parts each night. Boyle’s take on Mary Shelley’s literary classic will also tell the story from the monster’s point of view in a new version by playwright Nick Dear.
Near Thai Restaurant near Oxford Street
Launching on 25th November, ORA will bring authentic Thai cuisine to the West End. The restaurant will have 90 covers with a 30-seat lounge bar making an ideal space for pre-dinner cocktails.
