Hawksmoor is well regarded as one of London’s best steakhouses and now founders Will Beckett and Huw Gott have opened the fourth restaurant and cocktail bar, Hawksmoor Air Street, in late 2012 on Air Street, just off Piccadilly.
Hawksmoor Air Street offers the usual focus on beef and steaks, but they have teamed up with renowned seafood chef Mitch Tonks (The Seahorse and RockFish restaurants in Dartmouth) to offer a new focus on seafood.
As well as steaks, the menu features fish such as turbot, monkfish, John Dory and Dover Sole grilled simply over charcoal and a large selection of shellfish alongside Hawksmoor classics.
Hawksmoor Air Street has 235 covers in the restaurant and a further 50 in the bar. The design has a nod to the Art Deco period, with the bar being based on the Fumoir bar at Claridge’s, and the restaurant has ten specially commissioned floor-to-ceiling arched stained and etched glass windows.
