The San Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards winners have been announced for 2013 to the excitement and intrigue of chefs, critics and the media the world over.
Last year’s Danish winner, Noma, has been pushed back in to 2nd place by Spain’s El Celler de Can Roca located in Girona, north east Spain.
The UK fared well at The World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards with a total of seven restaurants in the top 100. Dinner by Heston at the Mandarin Oriental was the top London restaurant in 7th place, with The Ledbury in Notting Hill at 13, and Heston Blumanthal’s The Fat Duck in Bray in Bray at number 33.

10. Restaurant Vendȏme, Germany
West London based Hedone, founded by Mikael Jonsson in July 2011, must also be congratulated as it makes its way to number 70. It is quite an achievement for a restaurant that has only been opened for 2 years. Hedone is very much ‘one to watch’.
