The Hoxton Hotel – A Cool, Hip Boutique Hotel in Shoreditch

Slap bang in the centre of Shoreditch, the Hoxton Hotel is a fabulous offering for a quick, no frills city break. The hotel rooms are stylish, intentionally fuss-free and functional. The ethos is simple: the rooms are a base from which to work and play in this exciting part of the city.

What sets the Hoxton hotel apart from competitors is the dedication to style and its modern décor – our bedroom had a Shoreditch-inspired bicycle painted on the wall.

The Hoxton Holborn

Our bedroom had a comfortable, if a little on the small sized, bed, lovely linens, fluffy towels and zingy toiletries in the (rather small) bathroom. Despite being in the city-centre the room was perfectly insulated and there was no noise from the bustling streets below.

In the morning a small brown paper bag filled with breakfast treats was left outside the door, and was a sweet and clever touch, particularly for business travellers.

The Hoxton Grill, the hotel’s restaurant, is so lovely that I often visit for Sunday brunch. It bears no similarities with the usual hotel restaurants you might find at this price point.

The menu is fun, and the big brasserie-style restaurant is often filled with parties totally independent of hotel guests making for a good mix. The hotel lobby also offers a thriving bar scene, which is packed at weekends.

The hotel is business orientated, but not to the detriment of leisure travellers. The Hoxton Hotel offers a great selection of conference and meeting facilities and seems to strike a good balance between work and play with its clientèle.

The Hoxton Hotel is one of London’s best boutique hotels: It’s straightforward, affordable and offers a bit of grown-up fun at a less serious price-point.

The Hoxton Hotel has just launched ‘The Apartment’ in collaboration with the Soho House Group – a collection of six individually designed meeting rooms set around an open plan kitchen to offer a fun meeting space rather than your typical office – photo below.
