The Apartments at The Sloane Club

As an adopted East Londoner, what could be more fitting and immersive than experiencing a night in West London by staying at The Sloane Club?

Close to the same titled square, this private members’ club has recently opened 18 new apartments as part of its existing portfolio of luxury catered apartments.

While The Sloane Club itself is the kind of traditional venue you would expect, a lot of effort has been put into ensuring the new apartments retain the stately glamour of this part of London while offering a contemporary feel and all the mod cons. The overall effect certainly provides a contrast.

In a late 19th century Pont Street Dutch building, a mix of studios and one and two-bedroom apartments have been given quite a glitzy make over, with colourful damask curtains, glass and mirror fittings and huge beds with spacious living rooms, bathrooms  and – importantly – storage.

It’s not always going to be the case that visitors to London will want to stay in a hotel; some might prefer to have their own front door along with a certain independence while still having all of the services you’d expect of a luxury hotel in London.

They Apartments are also designed for people who are planning long stays in London or want the flexibility of space to host business meetings and dinners (you can even have one of their Chefs prepare dinner in your apartment) in a very exclusive neighbourhood.

To list everything these apartments offer would be rather dull, but you can certainly expect large TVs with the latest technology, including local information, room-service menu and the ability to stream content from your mobile or smartphone in order to view your emails and photos or listen to music.

On our visit we had the continental breakfast served in large hampers and filled with a combination of muesli, croissants, bread, hams, cheese and spreads. If anything, it was probably a bit too big and there was a lot of packaging.

The kitchen itself is fully equipped with a Nespresso machine and everything you would need to host a dinner party.

If you’re looking for a luxury hotel experience with the comforts of home in one of the most exclusive and well connected parts of London, then The Apartments at The Sloane Club could be just the place.
