The Guide

Here's Bon Vivant to the best Mayfair restaurants and Mayfair bars.

Mayfair Restaurants

Mayfair has its share of fabulous dining experiences, with a plethora of Michelin starred restaurants, including the legendary Le Gavroche and Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester.

Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester

The Wolseley has maintained its place as London’s most chic destination for breakfast and brunch in Mayfair while Cecconi's and Aurelia London are also excellent choices. Cecconi’s is fun and glamorous, with a real buzz about the place - and Prosecco on tap is never a bad thing.

Scott’s, on Mount street, has been a Mayfair restaurant institution for years - Scott’s is glamorous, exciting and a place ‘to see and be seen’.

Some of our other favourite Mayfair restaurants are:

Banca restaurant - Situated on the top end of North Audley Street, Banca is very much a Mayfair restaurant in name, location and style. Prices are high but Banca offers a slice of Milan in Mayfair.

Alyn Williams at the Westbury - One of our favourite hotel restaurants in Mayfair that offers slick, elegant and contemporary cooking, as handsome as it is delicious.

Brasserie Chavot - Offers excellent high-end brasserie food in a stylish, opulent dining room.

Brasserie Chavot Mayfair

34 Restaurant - Excellent menu of meat and game in a classic, timelessly elegant dining room. Very few restaurants make you feel as special as 34 – the food, service and atmosphere are truly heavenly.

Corrigan's Mayfair restaurant - reminiscent of London in a fashionable era, when dressing up was de rigueur, and supper in town was full of excitement and anticipation. Excellent food from Irish chef Richard Corrigan.

If those Mayfair restaurants aren't enough, try El Pirata tapas restaurant, Mews of Mayfair for a British brasserie or Cut at 45 Park Lane for steaks.

Mayfair Bars

The Connaught hotel features two of the best bars in Mayfair. The Coburg bar is a wonderful place to relax after a day at the office or shopping, while the design and the cocktails at the Connaught bar are perfect for an upbeat glamorous evening with friends.

Mayfair Bars

Our other favourite Mayfair bars are:

Mayfair Bars: Bar 45

House in 45 Park Lane hotel, the bar features a long, black granite bar with an autumnal amber and red colour scheme throughout. A lovely cocktail menu is coupled with an extensive list of American wines.

Mayfair Bars: Artesian Bar at The Langham

Situated in the beautiful Langham hotel, the David Collins designed bar is sleek, sexy and dramatic. With its 50 types of rum, Artesian is ideally placed for a post shopping cocktail or a refined haven from the frenzy of nearby Soho.

Mayfair Bars: The Donovan Bar

The Donovan Bar at Brown's Hotel in Mayfair is cool, stylish, intimate and a haven for fashionistas. The walls are adorned with Terence Donovan's iconic black and white prints, which adds a contemporary twist to the history of the surroundings.

The Donovan is one of our picks for the best hotel bars in London.
